The gluten free diet has become something of a fad to celebrities and various others who want to use it to lose weight. The problem is that this diet is very serious for those individuals who have celiac disease.

Being gluten free is a lifestyle and is not just a fad that these people can stop or start at any time. Individuals trying out the diet for personal interests might be making it seem easy but they aren’t on it for the same reason as those with celiac disease or an allergy, thus they can eat traditional food when they want. This makes it much easier.

For a person who has to go on a gluten free diet for medical reasons, once they start it, which should be as soon as they find out their condition, they need to keep on it as well as possible. The only way for this person to get healthier is to avoid gluten altogether. They may also need to start a schedule of supplements to replace lost nutrition. Celiac disease is a serious condition and the diet must be treated as such too.
